A thick and creamy mint and avocado smoothie recipe that tastes just as good as a milkshake.
Don’t you ever wish you could have ice cream for breakfast? Well, now you pretty much can with this creamy, dreamy Mint and Avocado Smoothie.
With flavors of sweet vanilla and fresh mint, you’ll think you’re drinking a milkshake – but it’s green. And has veggies! But have no fear, I promise you won’t even notice the spinach. Not to mention the frozen avocado is essential for a super thick and uber-creamy texture.
This one is truly perfect for a refreshing summer breakfast, snack or even dessert.
MINT AND AVOCADO SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTS
Here’s what you’ll need to make this avocado smoothie:
- Frozen avocado
- Spinach
- Milk of choice
- Honey or maple syrup
- Fresh mint
- Salt
Blend it ’til smooth and you’re good to go!
As a side note, I am not a fan of using bananas in every. single. smoothie recipe. Sure, it helps thicken things up, but banana flavour really tends to take over. That’s why this recipe is BANANA-FREE! Just make sure your avocado is frozen and you’ve got an extra-thick smoothie, no banana required.
IS THIS AVOCADO SMOOTHIE HEALTHY?
Yes!
Avocados are good source of healthy fats and fiber, the two of which help make our smoothie more satisfying and keeps us full longer.
If you use dairy or soy milk, you can also expect to get a decent amount of protein. Protein helps keep us full too, and is key for building and repairing muscles among many other important functions. Other dairy-free milk alternatives may not be a significant source of protein – see how they size up in this article: Dairy vs Non-Dairy Milk: How Do They Compare?
In any case, adding extra protein to your smoothie can be easy. You can always throw in some unflavored protein powder or simply add in some protein-rich foods, like the ones listed here: How to Add Protein to Smoothies Without Protein Powder!
